Copa vida has become a part of my weekly work life. Working in North County, though there are many specialty coffee shops, there’s not many that are close to my office. At times it would take me over 40 minute to drive to Encinitas to get a cup of delicious coffee to keep me going for the rest of my day.
One day googling I found that Copa Vida had a location 5 minutes from my office. I was over the moon excited. I first started frequenting this roaster/coffee shop when I lived in Hillcrest. They have their biggest San Diego location in Downtown. This quickly because my favorite place to work remote from. They have delicious coffee, food, plenty of sitting space and an awesome team that made you feel welcomed.
Fast forward to my north county time and though the Carlsbad location is a smaller set up, it is just as awesome of an experience. Not just for the coffee, but the location as well. This coffee shop seems to place most of its locations inside of business complexes, which gives them a chance to be creative with their space and offering.
Copa Vida offers a selection of coffee and teas. They are a roaster, therefore all of their coffee is roasted by them. A few of my favorite options with this particular coffee shop are the flat white, mocha, (which is the perfect balance of chocolate and espresso, though you may agree with me that the serving is too small), and latte. They are definitely a purist shop that sticks to simplicity over complicated coffee drinks.
For tea drinkers, they have a very large menu where I am sure you will be able to find something that will hit the spot. I am not a big tea drinker, but the Organic Masala Chai and Bai Mu Dan are a couple of my favorites under this category.
One last thing to point out, Copa Vida likes to harbor conversation so they have a no WiFi rule on Sat-Sun 9am-3pm. If you are looking to get some work done, just be sure to remember their WiFi hours.
