Revolution Roaster is located in Oceanside. I’ve frequented this place for a few years now, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized they have an interesting set up for roasting their beans. Just a while ago I checked out a coffee shop called “Coffee Coffee” in Leucadia (North County San Diego) and in looking around I kept seeing Revolution Roasters packaging next to their roasting machine. I was super excited that there were people actually roasting and I could ask about the set up.
Revolution Roasters started as a roaster and “Coffee Coffee” purchased the beans, which they still do today. An arrangement was made for them to be able to roast their beans onsite and for “Coffee Coffee” to purchase them and used the beans at their different locations. Fast forward a few years and Revolution Roasters has their own location, and I could not be more excited.
The shop set up is awesome – staying true to their SoCal roots they have an indoor outdoor set up. Being so close to the coast you can enjoy beautiful sunny days while enjoying their delicious coffee. The indoor option is very conducive to working or studying with lots of tables and bar space.
Now onto the good stuff! They have a pretty cool looking menu (photo below), though it definitely leans to a purist palette, they have some sweeter options as well. Their americanos are on point, very balanced without bitterness. The beans they use give you a very clean and smooth brew, even Jeff who usually needs creamer was enjoying this black. I also ordered their cortado, for me this was a little on the bitter side this time around, though this has not always been the case. For those hot summer and fall days, we also tried their cold brew, both regular and nitro. They were both delicious, though I definitely lean towards their nitro version just a bit more.
Across the board this is a great option for coffee, treats, and a place to work/study, or hang out. Revolution Roasters without doubt is one of my top choices in Oceanside. Truly I can’t wait to go back to try their affogato 😳… they looked incredible.
